FESTIVAL FRIENDS ENJOY MANY ADVANTAGES

We can look forward to a promising, exciting summer - please find enclosed the Summer Programme for Friends. You are warmly invited to all the events, so do take advantage of your membership.

Friends, patrons and subscribers enjoy free access to all the lectures and meetings with artists; this summer for the first time we are charging a contribution towards expenses from non-members who attend.

You can also take advantage of a preferential price for the book The Salzburg Festival 1992 to 2001 about the era of Gerard Mortier and Hans Landesmann. Details are given on page 6, an order form is enclosed.

The positive reactions to Gérard Uféras's theatre photos in the May edition of the Friends' Magazine have prompted us to show more of his work in this edition. Uféras's pictures capture in inimitable manner the mood behind the scenes, between performances and in the foyers.

Another news item for you: Hans Neuenfels's new book, to be published by the Jung Publishing House in Salzburg, is called Naples or the Journey to Stuttgart. Neuenfels's wife Elisabeth Trissenaar will read and play excerpts from it on 5 August in the Zeitfluss tent. Tickets are available from the Ticket Office of the Salzburg Festival.
