The Salzburg Festival in Prague, the "Golden City"

For the first time in its history the Salzburg Festival presented its programme in Prague, the “Golden City”. In cooperation with corporate sponsor Uniqa the Salzburg Festival hosted an evening in the Rudolfinum, home of the Czech Philharmonic. In the presence of First Lady Livia Klausova and Professor Josef Suk, the great violinist and great-grandson of Antonín Dvorák, Herbert Schimetschek spoke about Uniqa’s commitment to sponsoring the Salzburg Festival. Festival president Helga Rabl-Stadler presented the programme to the public in Prague. Dagmar Pecková, who has participated in many performances of the Salzburg Festival, sang an aria from La clemenza di Tito (the opera was first performed in Prague) and the Seven Gypsy Songs by Antonín Dvorák.
